ABOUT THIS EVENT
Accessibility note: now with live closed captioning!
This circle’s theme will be: Queer Art and Queerness as Art. How does our queerness influence the art we create and consume? How does the art we create and consume influence our queerness? To what extent can the act of living as a queer person be itself an artistic practice? This circle will involve meditation, journaling, discussion, and gentle movement. Please bring an artistic medium of your choice (e.g. colored pencils, clay, paint.) As always, have a place to sit, a journal, and yourself.
Sasha is a theatre and healing artist dedicated to queer community building, and creates through a lens of trauma sensitivity and intersectionality. Gabriel is a meditation teacher, theater teacher, and theatermaker with years of practice designing safe spaces and creating cooperative ensembles. To make this circle accessible while still supporting both the facilitators and New Women Space, we are using a sliding scale: $7 to $22. Please contact New Women Space if this is challenging— no one will be turned away from lack of funds.
Allies can support by spreading the word, and leaving the space to the LGBTQIA+ community.
