Spreading Kindness to Mothers of Children with Medical Complexity

You’re invited to brighten Mother’s Day for a mother of a child who has a medical complexity. Be a part of “Spreading Kindness to Moms” in advance of this year’s holiday by contributing a positive, supportive, and encouraging message that expresses you care. The message can be in the form of a card, poem, song, quote, decorated positive affirmation, painting, or other expression of your kindness. All messages need to be emailed to Whitney@elianaslight.org by May 1st. Note: The date on this event posting is because of the form; however, we could have a message creation event online to connect members virtually while we do this project together.

“Spreading Kindness to Moms” is the virtual version of a community service program that Eliana’s Light has organized for the past 4 years. Prior to COVID-19, our organization gave around 600 gift bags moms who were going to be at their child’s hospital bedside over Mother’s Day. We’re now doing a combination of real and virtual gift packages. We welcome contributions of relevant items from women-owned businesses for the gift bags we deliver.

Eliana’s Light is a Washington, DC-based non-profit that Eliana’s Light improves the quality of life for families that include children with medical complexity. We provide emotional, financial, and educational support to family members while connecting their caregivers to additional resources. We also regularly organize volunteer programs that build community and connection while raising awareness on these families and whole health care.
