A Women’s History Month Event with Dr. Melanie Hill. Personified Preaching: Black Feminist Sermonic Practice in Literature and Music.

Her first book is an interdisciplinary analysis of the presence of black women preachers as cultural figures in literature, music, and in the space of the pulpit. She will approach the talk with a perspective of the figure of the black woman as a preacher in social justice spaces. Dr. Melanie Hill is a post-doctoral fellow at RU-New Brunswick.
