Black in Academia The Careers Series Writing Winning Grants (STEM)

ABOUT THIS EVENT

Life after doctoral research in UK academia is becoming increasingly uncertain for many early career researchers. As well as the existing cuts across UKHE institutions and a volatile academic job market, COVID-19 has thrown up a new myriad of challenges for early career researchers. These matters are likely to be most acute for Black scholars who already face a range of structural barriers to advancing their careers.

These spaces are for delegates to learn from industry professionals about practical steps and considerations beyond their Ph.D. From journal publishing to alternative careers, these seminars will democratize information about some of the key pieces of advice required for early career researchers to progress.
