Join USA Girl Scouts Overseas and Melissa Cristina Márquez for an enriching, hands-on exploration of marine biology. Known as the Mother of Sharks, Melissa Cristina Márquez is a marine biologist, TV presenter, founder of the shark education program The Fins United Initiative, and creator/host of ConCiencia Azul, a Spanish marine science podcast.

Through Scholastic, Márquez is writing the “Wild Survival” series that features diverse, global environments and the animals that inhabit them. She has given TEDx talks, named one of BBC’s 100 Influential and Inspirational Women, listed in Forbes “30 Under 30” science category, and was recently highlighted in InStyle Magazines’ as one of the “50 Women” making the world a better place.
