Jonathan Javier is only 26 years old but he has broken records and reached new heights by doing what he is passionate about - helping underdogs turn into winners as the CEO of Wonsulting. His drive to think of new paths and unconventional routes to help people get into their dream jobs inspires me to do more for the community. I believe that our society used to highlight competition and that if one person got the job you wanted, you would feel spite because you lost. Instead Jonathan preaches rejection being redirection to take that failure and let that drive you towards success. I am inspired by the positivity he exudes in the community and hope to provide that for someone as well.
I am most grateful for my background. As a first-generation student, I dealt with challenges of not having parents to give me connections or understand how to navigate the career space. But, they did embody me with tenacity, grit, perseverance, and other core qualities that drive me towards my ambitions. They taught me that I can do what I set my mind too by showing me how far they've come from nothing to a stable house in Los Angeles.
Regardless of warnings the future doesn't scare me at all. This is from"Simple and Clean", a song from the Kingdom Hearts video game. Kingdom Hearts is a pivotal part of my childhood as it was an escape for me. I found myself indulged in the storyline and felt complete when playing. As I grew older and listened to the songs and understood hidden messages that I missed when I was younger, I realized this game taught me how to feel and be okay with the changes coming into my life. This line of the song, "Regardless of warnings the future doesn't scare me at all" stood out because it reminds me that life is an everflowing stream that won't stop or stay the same. Despite those changes, I'm reminded to embrace them and not to be afraid.
Live each day with intention. I think once we start thinking and engaging in activities with intention we are more likely to enjoy our days and feel more fulfilled. That is why I look for intention in whatever I set out to do because it truly sets the tone for our day to day.
Perseverance because it resonates with who I am and my journey. I faced many ups and downs throughout my career journey in particular. Many rejections but finally I persevered. I believe we all will face challenges in our life that bring us down and even makes us doubt who we are. Despite that, perseverance keeps me strong knowing I can take adversities on to ultimately get to where I want to be.
