Success is an inner feeling that I have achieved what I care about without having to sacrifice anything that I care about. I'm talking about success in all areas of my life that matter to me.
I was offered a project that would have upped my profile and I said "no". I had another project in mind that increased my profile even more.
I saved the life of the person who previously had tried to kill me - my own dad. When I found him collapsed in the snow one night, I thought he was dead. It took me several minutes of staring at him to figure out whether he was still alive. Then I saw he was breathing.
I was the first person in the whole world to ever publish a property field trip video as a research product. The video quality wasn't great, it looked pretty homemade, and I was worried it would back fire. What happened instead was that our clients called in to tell us how brilliant the video was, and how much time it had saved them.
