1.) I think that people believe that I am uber-confident. I am not? It is all a beautiful walnut veneer that I keep polishing. 2.) I am the epitome of a Type A Virgo who is hyper-analytical and often perfection-centered. Okay, no one misunderstands this, but what they do not know is that I empathize and want the best for everyone. However, I am often retrospectively judging of others while introspectively judging myself.
I have a holistic approach to how I define success. It is not predicated solely on my job title or how much money I am making. Now, do not get me wrong; I have done plenty of jobs that I believe did not tap my skillset or paid my pennies on the dollar. Or they were surrounded by demoralizing, toxic people, and the jobs itself became a succubus of my joy. When I think of career success, I must be aligning myself with my life's mission, which is helping women succeed. And with this and a gathering of collaborative team members, I know that everything else will fall in place. For me, success does not stop at reflecting on my career; it also includes being physically fit, mentally refreshed, in loving - happy - respectful relationships, and being emotionally and spiritually sound. Success is how I balance it all while forgiving myself when I do not.
