I define success as finding your true purpose and finding a way to align that with your passions. I do not believe success is a synonym for happiness or six figures.
I have been longing for the ability to make a greater impact in the lives of women, who I have had the honor of serving for the majority of my career. This year I took a major leap of faith and will be temporarily leaving full time clinical practice to pursue a PhD at Johns Hopkins. This major shift/sacrifice is for the opportunity to create research, that includes black women, in order to influence healthcare policies that will enrich our lives instead of taking it. I am making strides to be a change agent globally.
