Today for me personally, I define success by achieving a healthy work life balance. I love what I do for a living but I have come to realize (and it took me awhile) that I am most successful when I spend an equal amount of time with my family and friends. Being successful to me is not having to work 70 hours a week anymore.
I am inspired by Brené Brown. I have read her books on self worth and the power of vulnerability. Her story and writing really speak to me. Being a business owner now for over 18 years, showing vulnerability in a male dominated business world has been hard for me and something that did not hold value initially. I did not see immediate power in it. Over the last 5 years +, I have been really implementing vulnerability practice into how I run my business and it has created more success for sure. Brené has definitely impacted my life in such positive ways.
I am most grateful for my son.
Nothing worthwhile happens overnight. Relationships are your strongest currency in life. Be true to yourself which means trust your gut and instincts. Failures help you grow, expect them to happen.
