I was completely burnt out and found myself resigning from my job without a plan or even an idea of what I was going to do next. Six weeks later, I found myself boarding a plane to Bali to get some much needed headspace and perspective on life. A month later after a few attempts at working on my Ikigai, I had a light bulb moment which led me to the business I started.
I am most grateful for a wonderful family and great friends who support and push me to follow my dreams.
Everything is a lesson and everyone is a teacher. Some of my most life-changing moments have happened from a brief encounter with a stranger which has led to something amazing. We never stop learning, if we stop learning, we have stopped living.
I love people and making a difference. I am in my element when I am working with people and learning from them or with them. My favourite moments from my business are when I am out in the field meeting and building a relationship with artisans. It is humbling and teaches me so much about life and the simplest of joys that human connection can bring. I strive to add value in each and everything I do or every encounter I have.
I have a powerful why to always come back too. Any entrepreneur will know sometimes it gets hard and there are days you want to quit but if you have strong reason for why you started your business, this will always get you through the tough days.
I am the founder of an ethical fashion brand working with communities of artisans to showcase their incredible work, ensure they are paid fairly and give back to each community. My brand is about providing customers with beautiful and unique products which have an amazing story behind them.
I am always eager to learn new skills and meet interesting people. One of my biggest passions in travelling, however recently with a global pandemic and the travel restrictions, I’ve found a new hobby of drone content creation.
