Tell us about a time you showed leadership at work.

Not at work, but in college. Since in-person college was cancelled in 2020, many extracurriculars were cancelled too. Disappointed with the fact that the coding clubs were cancelled, I created and led my own called the Creatives in Tech Network. We code just for fun, but it helps us practice collaborative coding while still working for our degrees.

Tell us about someone that inspires you.

Tech influencers coming from similar backgrounds as me inspire me everyday! The online network of coders is very strong and full of support.

What do you think is your greatest strength?

My greatest strength is extracting joy from my working environment and upkeeping a positive attitude for the team. I genuinely enjoy the work I do, even if it's hard work.

What are three traits you are proud to possess?

I work hard, play hard, and rest hard with much passion, energy, and intensity.

What is the worst piece of advice you have received?

"Python, Javascript, Java, C++ (name any popular language) are too saturated -- don't learn them." I once had a mentor who would only let me learn Lisp languages for this reason. It was really foolish, and while I love Lisp languages, I had to backtrack on my computer science fundamentals after that mentorship ended. There will always be those few in tech who genuinely hate on popular technologies just so they can feel "cool" and it's best to ignore them! :)
