I really enjoy being sociable but there are times where I really like to be on my own too, with my own thoughts, sometimes people misunderstand this need for alone time to focus as dismissive or uncaring. I need to be in the right moment to be sociable as I feel it can take energy from me that I want to use in my practice. This can lead people to thinking you don't value their time, which isn't the case. I have just learnt over the years to follow my gut and do what I feel is right for myself in that moment.
I am most grateful, especially through this difficult year, for my lovely bright, spacious studio that is only a 5minute walk from my flat. It has been my saviour during lockdown and I have made such progress in my practice over this past year.
I want to be know for my paintings made form handmade watercolour that I make from foraged pigment. I want to be known for the connection between us and the earth in my work and also for my motives behind the paintings I create. The stories behind my paintings are just as important to me as how they look.
I am most passionate about our planet. My practice is inspired by my veganism, my passion for our environment and the land that holds us. I hope through my art works to raise thoughts with people about the climate crisis and how we treat the world and the people/animals in it.
I really want to learn how to make my own paper form sustainable materials. I am waiting to hear if I have been accepted for a grant. If I do get the grant I will be learning to make my paper very soon!
