Being who God created me to be and doing what God created me to do. Meaning I'm not chasing money, I'm seeking purpose and the fulfillment of that purpose. Also, providing the people that come after me a solid and secure foundation. So they can explore, make mistakes, learn, fail, etc. faster than I did, and operate from a place of security rather than worry or fear.
I would believe in myself a lot earlier. And go after ideas a lot more confidently, less overthinking.
1. I am as tenacious as they come. I may be down, but you can never ever count me out. And as we all know that's what counts in life, I "get up 10". 2. I love myself. Deeply. Wholly. Fully. And I want the best for me. And this is regardless of whatever false programming anyone has tried to get me to believe. Adulthood has taught me this attribute isn't as common as I once thought, so I cherish this deeply. 3. I don't cling onto my ideas or beliefs just because they're mine. To the contrary, (on most topics) I love hearing different thoughts and opinions, I love growing, expanding, evolving. I reserve the right to change my mind.
Women. Most especially Black women. We are absolutely the underdog by all worldly measures and yet we get shxt done. Quickly. Excellently. Gloriously. Even in the midst of this wild year I have seen Black women organize protests, get strangers being held unlawfully out of jail, make money, open businesses, hold people /companies much more 'powerful' than them accountable and the list goes on and on. Also, anyone who is able turn an idea into something concrete is a total badass.
I am HYPE about helping African storytellers and creators connect with one another and get more educated on their crafts. I truly believe the key to evolving our media and entertainment space is not rocket science - we need access and resources. So I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens when we introduce more of those two things into the space at large.
