Do you ever find that there are things about you people misunderstand? If so, what are they?

Yes, the biggest thing people misunderstand about me is that they think I'm an extrovert. I present quite strong, I'm tall, I have a loud voice. And when I'm super passionate about a topic, I tend to be really vocal and engaged in the conversation. So people mistake me for being extroverted. But truthfully, my most favourite thing to do is decompress, at home, with tea (or wine) on the couch, or do a solo yoga class and have a kickass meditation. I find my energy being alone, and replenishing myself in my own space.

Tell us about a professional goal you have made strides towards this year.

I'm working toward building my coaching business and a community around the coaching brand as a whole. I have done lots of great work with probono clients over the CoVID-19 Shelter In Place/ Lockdown period, as well as with graduates within the organisation I am currently employed. And recently, I have hired a branding and business coaching to help me take the business to the next level. I'm really excited about what's to come (and totally shitting myself, LOL!)

What are you most passionate about?

I am extremely passionate about the visibility of women of colour in business - all kinds o business, not just the corporate type. I find there are just not enough spotlight on those of us who are doing amazing things across various career types and passions. I feel like it's the biggest disservice because we have no examples of what success looks like for ourselves - which perpetuates one of our biggest challenges, i.e. imposter syndrome and the feeling of not-enoughness.

What are you most grateful for?

That I have an amazingly supportive partner who through the ups and downs of me figuring my way through finding my coaching purpose and my studies, as well as some health challenges, has remained steady and consistent. I feel super blessed to have a person to share the good and not so good with.

When do you feel as though you are in a state of “flow”?

When I'm working on something that answers to my highest selfs motivation - contribution. When I'm working on programmes for my coaching business, with client one on one or writing for my community, I feel like I could do it forever! It also helps to have had a fabulous yoga session that morning to boost my brain ability to be open and engaged.
