Yes! I can be very dry and to the point while I am doing work and I have to make sure people know I am not mad! I am creative and outgoing when I teach classes but when doing "back office"/admin work I like to get things done quickly and effectively which can lead to a much more "dry" version of Rumer than some people are used to! It's not personal I just like to push through things as quickly as we can!
While I hoped to have this done for 2020, the universe said PAUSE to everything that year and reminded us to reset! So this year I have focused on building a true community within my studios. A place that clients and instructors can feel not only safe but welcome and loved! That way as we work towards more locations the feeling of comfort walking through the doors can be much more easily replicated than starting from scratch!
My dad! I was lucky enough to watch him work from a restaurant manager up to the CEO of one of the largest restaurant chains in the world through my childhood and young adult life. He was constantly not only working to provide what was best for our family but truly enjoys the fulfillment that his career has given him. Even when world events made his industry face some hurdles, he never lost sight of how to keep not only the overall company moving forward, but has provided support for individual employees at every level. Since taking over my own studios I am thankful to have had him as an example in my life as well as a resource to turn to.
Phew, again 2020 put a lot of challenges on my plate being in the fitness industry. The fateful day here in Texas, March 15, of going from initially deciding that morning to cap capacity to deciding by sunset that we needed to close our doors for a bit was a tough one but one I had to make on my own. I worked so hard that day and in the months that followed to not only communicate openly, honestly and often with my amazing team of instructors but also our clients so they would feel clued in to every decision I had to make!
My passion and knowledge. I am a curious person who thrives on learning new things and more about the things that intrigue me everyday. I love to share this knowledge with others and hopefully help them find passion around some of the same topics that I enjoy!
