This year my goal is to grow my social media following. Covid 19 has proven that social media is a key tool for not just business, but for personal well being. The Black Lives Matter movement has also proven that social media isn't just for videos and entertainment, but for important messages of unity and survival. I've always blogged and used social media, but I am being much more deliberate and intentional.
I am direct, I take calculated risks and I am a good communicator.
Because I love to speak and write, I was approached by a law firm in NY to serve as an vintage expert witness in a high profile fashion case regarding the history of a disputed handbag design. It was the first time my passion opened that level of opportunity. Being deposed on my knowledge and experience was truly flattering and gave me great pride.
My speaking skills. I was always a natural communicator. I definitely get nervous and anxious like everyone else, but as long as I know what my core message is, I find it easy to express myself with individuals or large crowds. I never knew this was such a difficult skill for most. I thank my parents for literally forcing me to socialize at parties when I was young.
I usually have a lot on my plate. Multiple projects and jobs. I think people are surprised to find out I have three chronic autoimmune illnesses. When you have a silent illness, it's really easy to get people to focus on your work and work ethic. But once those illnesses kick your behind, and you are no longer this work horse, it feels defeating and it's quite surprising to those who never would've known. I think I have been ambitious all my life BECAUSE I have illnesses.
I have been an educator and Vintagepreneur™ for 20 years. I own a vintage shop Debutante Clothing, and launching a second brand La Tercera Vintage. I also have 20 years of teaching experience.
