How do you define success?

Success, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder - but true success, in my eyes, is actually found in fulfillment. I've have a lot of conventional accomplishments - degrees, certifications, a 401k - but those things don't matter if my life is vapid of great conversations and relationships founded on trust and deep acceptance. - including, and most importantly, the one I have with myself.

What do you think is your greatest strength?

I have the ability to connect and communicate with the vast majority of people I have come across (even if their experience/background is vastly different from mine) and create an environment where they feel seen and valued. For as long as I can remember, I have been the confidante friend - in many of my relationships, I straddle the line of giving great, logical advice + being the hype girl that assures those confiding in me that they don't need to have every step mapped out to get to where they want to go. This translates directly to my professional life and purpose - either in my management background or coaching business. When you genuinely seek to understand people and their unique perspective, its easy to authentically root for them and breed trustworthiness within individual relationships and team settings.

What was the hardest decision you ever had to make?

I left a romantic relationship of 6ish years a few years ago and I agonized over the loss for many months after it ended. There were countless learnings and opportunities for growth that happened with I prioritized my own healing and boundaries. The hardest decision within that was choosing to be complete (some people use the verbiage " have closure") with how the relationship ended even if it was profoundly messy - and being okay with not having all the answers.

What is one piece of conventional advice you strongly disagree with?

I strongly disagree with the phrase "Respect is earned" -- I mean, maybe in some cases that's true- but I'd rather live into the best version of myself, and that version of myself gives everyone respect by virtue of the fact that they exist. That's it. I think humans too easily get caught up in their own ego and hurting their own feelings by casting our insecurities out on other people - when in reality everyone is just as self-involved as we are. That doesn't mean we abandon ourselves and our boundaries - but there is a difference between proving yourself in a professional setting (which is where I see this most) and having an inflated sense of self importance. You don't have to tolerate disrespect in order to treat others with respect.

What would you love to accomplish or do more of?

I have a degree and background in sports + broadcast, and I'd love to do more work with athletes (youth, collegiate, and professional) , as well as use my broadcast training for on-video, podcasting, and voiceover work!
