My best piece of advice is to just focus on RESULTS above all  else! Don’t waste time being a perfectionist, don’t get caught up in “tutorial hell”, don’t overthink which technologies to learn – just start somewhere. Just start creating!

Tell us about a recent experience that has sparked growth, new insight, or played a role in your professional development?

Quite recently, I started a Clubhouse room. This was initially outside my comfort zone, but I am so glad I did it, as it has encouraged me to get more comfortable being vulnerable and candid with my thoughts and feelings.  As women, we tend to often think we should suppress our personality because we were taught “women shouldn’t be so bold.” Recently, I have found myself strongly advocating towards breaking the mold myself and encouraging others to do the same.

On March 21st of 2020, I hosted my first zoom workshop. Prior to that date, I had never hosted a virtual workshop before and I candidly felt a bit nervous about it. However, I still said yes because I knew I could provide pivotal guidance for my female co-workers during our newly-given quarantine time. That “yes” I said to the March 21st event, led me to where I am today. My advice to other women is to say yes and then watch what happens.

Just do it… just take the leap! There are many opportunities I missed earlier in my career because I was afraid, or thought I wasn’t ready, or didn’t have enough experience, or wasn’t as deserving as others.

Here’s what I know now… the more I put myself out there, the more opportunities I’ll have. Now it is just up to me to take them.
